Hi my name is Katie Austin and I'm a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. I am a member of Association of Massage Therapist (AMT).

I have a vast variety of experience including working with Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Acupuncturists and other Massage Therapists. You can feel confident that you're in good hands. I specialize in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Sports Massage.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage holistically treats the whole body and I can trace the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, with the intention of healing both the cause and symptoms. The massage is applied directly to the skin. This ensures that the muscles associated with the disorder are warmed up and released. I use several specialized techniques to support and speed up the body's own repair mechanisms.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is designed to treat sporting injuries or aliments, as well as prevent and relieve injuries. It can be quite strenuous and is meant to relieve and reduce the stress that can build up within the body's soft tissue while exercising. Techniques are designed to increase endurance and performance, to minimize the chances of injury and if there is injury reduce the recovery time.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a technique that promotes healing, release and pain relief. The therapy is based on the idea that poor posture, physical injury, illness and emotional stress can throw the body out of alignment and causes its intricate web of fascia to become tight and constricted. Pressure on the bones, muscles, joints and nerves is relieved in the process and balance is restored. The release of tension once the body has responded to the therapy allows more functional flexibility and mobility of the muscles, fascia and associated structures.
